Not every presentation programme works in the same way. The Norwii N21 BLE offers as many as four different operating modes for the ‘up’ and ‘down’ buttons, which you can switch between as required:
- Default mode (left/right) – left and right arrows, ideal for PowerPoint, WPS, Prezi and Keynote.
- Page Up/Down mode – the buttons correspond to the “Page Up” and “Page Down” keys, which work in image viewers and galleries.
- “Scroll” mode (mouse wheel) – “scroll up/down” function, useful in web browsers.
- Up/Down mode – up/down arrows, which work well in Word, Excel and other word processors.
Once switched, the mode is automatically saved in the device’s memory and remains active until the next change. This means you don’t have to reconfigure the remote every time you switch programmes or devices.

Despite access to 4 slide-changing modes, there may be programmes that require special keyboard shortcuts. With the free Norwii Presenter app, available for Windows and macOS, you can assign any actions to the buttons on the Norwii N21 BLE remote. You can download the app from the manufacturer’s website and install it in seconds. Once the programme is running, you’ll see a graphical map of the remote’s buttons, to which you can assign selected keyboard functions. 2 ways to connect to your computer
The Norwii N21 BLE offers two connection methods. The first is a standard USB-A receiver, which you’ll find in a magnetic compartment on the remote’s casing. Once you remove the receiver and plug it into a USB port, the device works straight away, without the need to install any additional drivers. The second method is a wireless Bluetooth connection, which doesn’t take up a USB port and allows for convenient pairing with computers, tablets or smartphones. The remote can remember up to 7 recently used devices and automatically connect to them when switched on. It’s the perfect choice for people who frequently change where they work.
Pen and eraser – draw without a mouse
The Norwii N21 BLE remote is equipped with a special “Mark” button that allows you to quickly activate the pen function in PowerPoint. With this, the tip of the remote turns into a drawing tool. You can freely draw lines, circles and highlight important parts of slides directly on the screen. Pressing and holding the same button activates the eraser, which allows you to remove previously made markings. This is an extremely useful feature during interactive presentations, where you want to comment on content in real time, highlight key points or answer questions from the audience by visually emphasising elements of the slide.
