Description
The Light Dome II is a new and improved version of Aputure’s flagship softbox. The modifier is now even faster to set up and offers more light modelling options.
Versatility
The numerous accessories included in the kit give the user a great deal of freedom to shape the lighting:
- The use of the reflector alone enables sharp, directional light. Its silver interior provides very good reflection, minimising the loss of light.
- Three diffusers, one internal and two external (“Magic Cloth” and “Silk Cloth”), used individually or in any configuration, allow the degree of light dispersion to be matched, thus
achieving appropriately blurred shadows. - The diffuser grid allows the light to be narrowed and the shadows to be reduced.
- Grid allows the light beam coming out of the modifier to be narrowed and directed.
- The holder for coloured gel filters allows you to change the colour of the lighting easily and quickly.
Note: when using gel filters with powerful lights such as the APUTURE C300D, we suggest changing filters at intervals of no more than 3 HOURS. AN OVERHEATED FILTER MAY MELT OR IGNITE. we recommend the use of genuine rosco or lee brand filters when working with these lamps.

The modifier is made from the highest quality materials, guaranteeing reliability and long use. The well-thought-out design ensures optimum heat dissipation and imparts the required rigidity, allowing you to work outdoors without worrying about the effects of gusts of wind.
Professional mount standard
The professional standard Bowens mount ensures wide compatibility of the modifier with flashes and continuous light units. The softbox is ideal for use with the Aputure Light Storm C120 or C300, as well as many other manufacturers’ flashes equipped with a Bowens mount.
Fast assembly and ideal shape
The Light Dome II is based on sixteen steel rods equipped with a system that allows for quick unfolding and folding of the softbox. By placing the 16 rods in doubled fabric guides, it was possible to give the modifier a shape (32-sided) similar to a circle. This allows it to produce nice oval reflections in the eyes of the model.
Safe transport
The carrying case, made of thick, durable material, allows for convenient transport and safe storage of the kit.
